Siobhan's Holistic Therapies

About Me

A little bit about me..
I’m a holistic therapist based in Ballyragget, Co. Kilkenny, offering treatments designed to support relaxation, balance, and overall wellbeing.
Before stepping into this work, I spent many years working in Admin , commuting daily from Kilkenny to Dublin before settling in Portlaoise for a number of years. I genuinely enjoyed my job and the people I worked with, but like many, I rarely took time for myself — even though I loved receiving treatments when I did.
My Journey Into Holistic Therapy
My introduction to holistic therapies came at a time when I needed it most. After coming through a difficult and unhealthy relationship, I found myself searching for something that would help me feel like myself again. I visited a spiritual medium who recognised something in me I hadn’t yet seen — the potential to be a healer — and encouraged me to experience Reiki. That first session was a turning point. My mind felt quieter, and something shifted in a way I couldn’t fully explain, but I knew I needed more of it. I went on to train as a Reiki practitioner in 2012, beginning what would become a much deeper journey into holistic therapies.
A Personal Journey Through Fertility
In 2015, after meeting my husband Shem, we made the decision to start a family. Like many couples, we assumed it would happen naturally in time. When it didn’t, I began looking for ways to support my body, starting with kinesiology and later homeopathy to help regulate my cycle.
For a time, there was always a sense of hope — that maybe timing was just off, that things would fall into place. But as the years went on, that uncertainty became harder to carry, and we eventually sought medical advice.
We were advised that IVF would be our best option. While we were fortunate to create embryos, our transfers were unsuccessful. That experience brought with it not only disappointment, but also a sense of how clinical and impersonal the process can feel. After investing so much emotionally, physically, and financially, we were often left without clear answers — expected to move forward without really having the space to process what we had been through.
Wanting to understand more, I began to look beyond the standard medical approach. This led me to Neo Fertility, where more in-depth testing revealed that I was insulin resistant — something that had never been identified before and was likely having a significant impact on my ability to conceive.
That discovery was both frustrating and empowering. On one hand, it was difficult to realise this had gone undetected for so long. On the other, it gave me something tangible to work with — a direction, and a renewed sense of hope.
Three years on, our journey is still ongoing. There have been many ups and downs, and while each month can bring its own challenges, I’ve learned to approach it with a different mindset. I don’t dwell on it in the same way I once did, but I also haven’t given up hope.
Throughout it all, I’ve continued to support my body through nutrition, working with a herbalist, and deepening my understanding of holistic therapies. These approaches have not only helped me physically, but have given me a sense of control, calm, and connection during a time that can often feel uncertain.
Why I Do What I Do
My own experiences have shaped the way I work today.
Through everything, I found myself drawn back to holistic therapies — not as a replacement for medical care, but as a way to support the body, reduce stress, and create space for healing.
Alongside working with a herbalist and making changes to my lifestyle and nutrition, I also began training in reflexology and other therapies, with a growing desire to support others, particularly women navigating their own challenges.
While my journey is still ongoing, I haven’t lost hope. What I have gained is a deep understanding of how it feels to be unheard, to search for answers, and to simply need someone to listen.
Supporting You
Now, my focus is on creating a space where you feel heard, cared for, and supported — whether you’re coming for relaxation, stress relief, or something more personal.
Every treatment is tailored to you, with the intention of helping you feel more balanced, more at ease, and more connected to your body.
Wherever you are on your journey, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
